Involvement

We at Uppsala Student Union organise debates, seminars, surveys, write reports and carry out all kinds of various projects. We are present in the media, write our opinion on bills and other proposals that have been referred to us for consideration and try to influence local and national decision-makers in many different ways. We want your time as a student to be the best time possible! And to make that happen, we need your help.

Get involved in Uppsala Student Union

Uppsala Student Union is Sweden's largest student union, with around 33 000 members. We oppose when students' rights are violated. We get organised to influence, change and improve the education and the student life at Uppsala University. We are represented in a range of various decision-making bodies at the University, and we see to it that the students' rights are respected. On department level there are student councils (studieråd) and on faculty level there are faculty councils (fakultetsråd) where you as a student can make your voice heard about the problems that exist in your department or study programme. This way, you can contribute to improving your own study situation.

Work groups

Join one of the Union's work groups! The work groups discuss and work on various issues that are of interest to Uppsala University's students. The work groups are open for anyone to join.

Get politically involved

As a member of the Student Union, you have the right to influence the work and stance of the Union. The Student Union Council (kårfullmäktige) is the Union's highest decision-making body with its 41 members from different political parties. The Student Union Council supervises and stipulates the general guidelines for the Union's activities.

Elections to the Student Union Council are held every year. As a member of the Union, you are entitled to vote for one of the many student parties. The outcome of the elections will then decide how the seats are distributed in the Student Union Council. Why don't YOU join a party and see to it that the Union dances to your tune!
