Uppsala Student Union works actively for and protects student participation at Uppsala University. The students form the biggest part of the university. Thus students also need to have responsibility for the education and their
situation as a whole.

Uppsala Student Union has a mandate to appoint student representatives to all the levels of Uppsala University where decisions, and preparations for decisions, are being made. One of the main tasks of the Union is thus to
appoint student representatives and make sure that the student influence at the University is protected.

The representatives of the Student Union at the faculties, the Student Liaison Officers, control that the departments appoint students to their boards. The Union also has an important task to engage and support their members to become and do a good job as representatives. The Union appoints student representatives to over 950 posts at the University.

Thus you as a member have big oppurtunities to influence and improve your education through the Union.
