Student Influence

Uppsala Student Union works to safeguard and increase student influence at Uppsala University. The students constitute the most important stakeholder at Uppsala University. It is therefore vital that the students must be involved in and share the responsibility of what goes on at the University.

Uppsala Student Union has the mandate to appoint student representatives to all the drafting and decision-making bodies within Uppsala University where the drafts and decisions concern students. One of the Student Union's main tasks is therefore to elect these representatives and see to it that student influence over the University is secured. The representatives of the Student Union at the faculties, the Student Liaison Officers, control that the university departments appoint students to their boards as is required.

The Student Union not only appoints student representatives, but also has the crucial mandate to engage and support its members in taking on responsibilities and doing a good job as student representatives. The Student Union appoints representatives to a total of more than 950 appointments within the University. This means that, through the Student Union, you as a member have a great opportunity to influence and improve your own education.
