The Vice President for Student Welfare

The Vice President responsible for Student Welfare works, above all, with issues related to the students' studying environment, health, financial situation and accommodation.

Studying environment

The University is responsible for providing a good working environment for their students as well as their employees. Uppsala Student Union has its own Student Workplace Safety Officer at every department, who are responsible for ensuring that the students are provided with a good working environment.

Health

Uppsala Student Union is one of the employers for the Student Health Centre (Studenthälsan). Through the Student Health Centre, the students are offered health care, exercise and various health-related courses. Go to the Student Health Centre website.

Economy

Uppsala Student Union actively lobbies for more student aid and a better social security network for students. In cooperation with SacoStudentråd, Uppsala Student Union produces a biannual report describing the problems that students encounter in today's social security system.

Accommodation

Uppsala Student Union works hard to influence politicians, building companies and other actors in the building sector to build more and better housing for students. We also work to initiate a debate and build awareness, so that more people are aware of the housing situation for Uppsala's students. In addition, the Student Union runs an accommodation site called Studentboet, where people can upload advertisements for rooms or apartments to let. Here you can also find general information about housing and subletting contracts that you can download and use.
