Election Committee

The objective of Uppsala Student Union's Election Committee is to
inform the students about the possibility to run in the student union
elections, to review and approve all the candidates' applications
against the statutes of the Union, and to organise the election itself,
the voting and the counting of votes. For the two latter tasks, the
Student Union often hires additional staff.

The Election Committee is responsible for enabling you to participate in the student union elections, be it as a candidate or as a voter.

It is the Election Committee's responsibility to arrange and organise the election of the 41 members of the Uppsala Student Union Council, which is the Student Union's highest decision-making body. The Council will then appoint representatives to a number of important bodies.

The Election Committee consists of three members, and is headed by a chairperson. The Committee is elected by the Council in September for a 1-year term. The Committee's members cannot run in the student union elections.

The members of the Committee in 2008/2009 are Therése Plastrougi, Tanya Karjalainen and Hanna Mörck.
